Lee Chafer
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT: General & Production Manager, International Swine Operations
Lee Chafer is a results-driven swine production specialist with more than 20 years of international experience across the UK, USA, Ireland, and Russia. He has built a career managing large-scale farrow-to-finish and finishing operations, from greenfield builds to complex multi-site restructures, delivering consistent improvements across every key production metric.
Based in Phitsanulok, Thailand, Lee founded AgriSwine Asia to bring this experience to pig producers and their financial backers in Vietnam and China. His hands-on, culturally adaptable approach has been proven across diverse regulatory and operational environments on three continents.
Lee also brings direct, hands-on experience managing farm operations in regions affected by African Swine Fever (ASF) in Russia — implementing the strict biosecurity protocols required to keep the virus out of active sites, including site zoning, disinfection procedures, and controls on staff and vehicle movement. This real-world ASF risk management experience is directly relevant to the outbreak Vietnam’s pig industry is facing today.
Lee has personally overseen operations ranging from 1,200-sow breeding herds in the UK to a 50,000-head high-health finishing complex in the USA (Smithfield Foods), and a 6,000-sow multi-site business in Ireland. He is equally comfortable in the boardroom and on the farm floor.

Independent Farm Audit and Due Diligence
An independent on-site assessment for investors, banks and buyers. We verify:
- Herd and records: physical herd count and production records checked against reported figures
- Biosecurity and ASF risk: disease controls on site and the risk to the herd
- Facilities and capacity: building condition and true capacity against what was financed or advertised
- Management and costs: management quality, staffing, and cost of production against benchmarks
You receive a written report with findings, risk ratings and recommended actions. Typically two days on site. We take no commission from feed, genetics or equipment suppliers, and report only to the client who engages us.

What regions do you work in?
We focus on Vietnam and China, though we are open to engagements elsewhere in Asia on a case-by-case basis.
Do you work on-site, remotely, or both?
Both. Many engagements start with an on-site assessment, followed by a mix of on-site visits and remote support such as data review, reporting, and video calls, depending on what the operation needs.
What size operations do you work with?
Everything from single-site farrow-to-finish units to large multi-site operations. Lee has personally managed sites ranging from 1,200-sow breeding herds to a 50,000-head finishing complex.
How long does a typical engagement take?
An audit is usually about two days on site, followed by a written report. Improvement work runs from a few weeks to several months, agreed in the scope before we start.
Are you independent?
Yes. We take no commission from feed, genetics or equipment suppliers.
Do you audit legal and environmental permits?
Our audit covers the production side: herd, health, facilities, management and costs. Legal and permit checks are best done by a local law firm, and we can work alongside yours.
